This book is written for children ranging from 3rd-5th grade and is intended to introduce readers to the incredible diversity found in wetland ecosystems. More specifically, the book walks readers through the unique and dynamic life cycle of trematode parasites.In the book, Gemma Jones, the protagonist, is transformed to the size of a pebble in the middle of a wetland and must find her way home. Over the course of her journey, Gemma meets friends, including a misunderstood parasite named Talia. Through her adventures, Gemma learns about the many colorful animals that live in wetlands and ultimately gains a greater appreciation for wetland ecosystems.
